The Eagle has landed

Guys, have I mentioned recently how much I love space and space exploration and the Apollo program (and Gemini--Gemini did so much cool stuff that gets overlooked in favor of Apollo)? If not, well.... I really love it, yo. And this whole "50th anniversary of landing on the moon for the first time" thing has me even more hyped than usual. Need to get myself a SPACE icon sometime soonish.

Anyhow, this is the best video I've seen so far for getting a taste of what the actual landing was like:


Goosebumps, folks. Maybe a bit teary-eyed even.



Just.

We landed on the moon. How rad is that? (And how quickly can we get back there, please?)

Ooh, cool! This past week I've been watching a fabulous documentary looking at the space program through the lens of Apollo 11. I'll have to post it over here--definitely worth sharing.
Oh, cool! I knew that Perth lit all their lights for John Glenn back during the Mercury program, but I didn't know about Australia's involvement in transmitting the audio/visual for Apollo.
