Little bit of world-building that will probably never actually appear anywhere: in the sprawling and not-entirely-consistent fictional universe which contains Corbel & Squinch, Plen & Faraji & Joy, and that magic SGA AU, there are contraptions like this in many public gathering places, like large stores and restaurants and other types of places I can't think of offhand.
