review: robin hood (2010 film)

Just finished watching Robin Hood and--unexpectedly--liked it a lot. Oh, the history, geography, technology, and politics are all fudged, but hey. Shakespeare did that all the time. Not that I'm saying this is of similar quality, but it's a solid story, with likable (and despicable) and consistent characters, gorgeous photography and music, a satisfying ending, a few good twists, etc. Definitely something I'd watch again.

I like it when the story allows its hero to actually be a hero.
