poem: warning - contents under pressure

My thoughts fizz and bang about
like gas molecules from a jar released;
long was I by small distractions led,
blinded, baffled, scarcely knowing
what I would or who I'd be, that,
these concerns removed, the pressure eased,
my mental hobbles untied,
unnoticed weights released,
I scarce can help but fly, flit from
one possibility to another:
so much potential! so little time!
Small wonder sleep is slow to come
and often stumbles on his way.

seriously, though, the whole waking-up-at-2-AM-and-not-being-able-to-go-back-to-sleep thing is super annoying.
