Nineteenth Sunday after Trinity

(Prayer requests?)

Ecce beatam lucem; | Behold the blessed light,
Ecce bonum sempiternum, | behold eternal goodness,
Vos turba electa celebrate Jehovam eiusque natum | you throng of the elect, praise God and His Son
aequalem Patri deitatis splendorem. | who is equal to the Father; praise the splendour of the deity.
Virtus Alma et maiestas passim cernenda adest. | Benign power and majesty are seen everywhere.
Quantum decoris illustri in sole, | The dazzling splendour of the sun
quam venusta es luna, | is matched by you, the moon,
quam multo clar'honore sidera fulgent, quam pulcra quaeque in orbe. and by the stars shining brightly in their great glory.
O quam perennis esca tam sanctas mentes pascit! | O how such eternal nourishment feeds holy minds!
praesto gratia et amor, praesta nec novum; | Mercy and love are here, and always have been;
praesto est fons perpes vitae. | here is the eternal fount of life.
Hic Patriarchae cum Prophetis, hic David, | Here the Patriarchs and Prophets, here David,
Rex David ille vates, | King David the bard,
cantans sonans adhuc aeternum Deum. | singing and playing instruments still praise eternal God.
O mel et dulce nectar, O fortunatam sedem! | O honey and sweet nectar, O blessed place!
Haec voluptas, haec quies, haec meta, hic scopus | This delight, this peace, this goal, this mark
Nos hinc attrahunt recta in paradisum. | draw us from here straight to Paradise.
