Monsoon season

Don't know what the weather's like where you are, but around here we've been getting torrential downpours almost every other day, and frequently multiple times a day. Our one section of garden is nearly 2 inches deep in water, with enough of it moving at one point that it shoved a stone paver nearly four feet.

The oddest part of it all is that peoples' lawns are green. Around here, usually grass goes brown and door-matty by the middle of July, but this year everything's doing its level best to spawn a rain forest jugle. Which then requires an awful lot of weeding, even when you have chickens quite eager to 'help'.

( to tell it's time to hit the lights and go to sleep: you keep losing the beginning of a sentence by the time you reach the end. If you manage even that much. Hope you all are doing better.)
