poem: Don't come to me

Don't come to me with the entire truth.
Don't bring the ocean if I feel thirsty,
nor heaven if I ask for a light;
but bring a hint, some dew, a particle,
as birds carry drops away from a lake,
and the wind a grain of salt.

You always have such lovely and wondrous bits and snippets to share with us, Brat! I know I rarely comment on them, but I do very much appreciate them. Little moments of quiet reflection, joy, or wonder, they are, and I don't always feel adequate to comment on them without breaking the spell.
:)

My big goal for this lj is (has become: originally it was just going to be a platform for sharing my fiction, but that didn't last long) to brighten people's lives just a little.
You succeed on a regular basis, as far as I'm concerned--I'm always pleased to find a new Brat post on my friends page! ^^
