Gardens are not made by sitting in the shade. ~Rudyard Kipling
Found these by searching for "garden" at quotationspage.com. Seemed appropriate, given the amount of weeding I've been doing and will probably have to continue to do until everything gets baked into the ground in late June. Our garden (and yard in general) has been neglected for the past four or so years, and it shows. Current goal is to get it looking decent by this time next month, since that's when my sister's getting married and all the various relatives will converge on our house--several of whom are serious gardeners. We don't want to cause them distress. Also, to plant a vegetable garden, because I've wanted one since I was about eight, and am finally old enough to actually get it done (and not lose interest half-way through the growing season).
In pursuit of this, we have bought a tiller, which should arrive sometime this week. Main goal with that will be to till ground and not someone's foot. Or the dog, which would be quite possible because he's black and somewhat stupid.
