lent query

Lent is almost upon us; how odd. I shall be giving up sweets, as I have every year since high school, and quite likely most of the internet, since that's my main indulgence at the moment. (And this would be a sentence about how much I appreciate Lent and being forced to pay attention to my habits and small follies, to reflect on how comfortable my life is most of the time, but it keeps coming out incoherent.)
